New Trends in Regional Disparity and Factor Flows in China: An Observation and Explanation from a Perspective in Mismatching Distribution between Population and Industries
2019-03-20 10:50:13

Abstract: The regional disparity can be expressed as mismatching distribution between population and industries from a spatial point of view, which is a new perspective in evaluating regional disparity. In this study, we examined the new trend in convergence of regional disparity since 2003, and analyzed how flows of population and capital affect the trends in regional disparity. We conclude that the flow of population is playing more and more important role in reducing the mismatching distribution between population and industries and thus the regional disparities. We also examined the reasonable degree of mismatching from an international perspective, and categorized the mismatching degrees by provinces. Based on the categorization.
